16. Shinto
a continuation of poem 11
Shinto
Shintoism
the emblem of Shintoism is The Crane
Crane
i never took flight
until i married Shinto
eagles had to roll over
and look up to see us
no clouds were to high for our perch
and no valley to low
to feel the soul of our wandering
the sounds of my Shintos wings
were my Shintos call to me
the sounds of the winds through the trees
brought my Shintos calls to me
my Shintos heart was red
the hearts membrane was a white quilt
Shinto rent it upon our wedding bed
and filled my yearnin;g with the nest
then gave me a quilt of white and red
our food we harvested from the land
our food we harvested from the sea
our food we harvested from the air
Shinto prepared it wonderfully
my Shinto loved The Crane Our Lord
the scent of The Spirit Shinto said at times
was like the breezes in coastal spring air
i followed these breezes
i was fooled
i found my Shinto there
Shinto was prepared wonderfully
my Shinto kindled a living fire
as my Shinto fed that fire
Shintos living gently consumed me
i loved my Shinto
Crane
17. orthodox judaism
he stopped beside abraham and sarahs tent
he had a drink and a meal then he went
along the road to sodom and gomorrah
where he said
they will have a sad tomorra
be like abraham
who on his face
asked for sinners grace
to reach the people
of sodom and gomorrah
before they experience that sad tomorra
take us by the hand oh lord
take us away from that dreadful day
lead us in the right way
don't let me fall in a fault
or look back to become a pillar of salt
18. orthodox judaism
the chariots of god in the sky above
flying o're the mountains bringing clouds of love
passing o're the earth
dropping rain on us
let me stand beneath that shower
that bower of god
that bower of love of god
the wind swept earth trembles at their wheels
people run and hide not knowing how love feels, crying
roll on chariots
roll on love
roll on everything of god
some people stand gaping
their mouths like a hungry bird
not knowing who to share with
or to tell what they have heard
just hearing this cry of earthmen
just hearing this cry of death
give us cannons not butter
give us war a world wide
let us see in others our self knowledge and pride
and not fight our selves inside
and not fight our selves inside
the chariots of god are passing o're the earth
their songs are the songs of love
they've brought rain for the earth
they've brought rain for the earth
oh stay chariots
stay o're the earth
rain like in noahs day
flood the earth
and flood the earth
and flood the earth
19. orthodox judaism
your bones
will cry moses
your bones
will cry moses
your lives will die shot through
by moses
your lives will die shot shrough
by moses
as far back as you can go
is to the law
and you'll die by moses
as far back as you can go
is to the law
and you'll find no forgiveness there
and you'll die by moses
you'll take a walk to moses street
it aint the street where forgiveness meets
it's the street where the law givers meet
you'll die by moses
I say...
say moses gods name
say moses gods name
you can't even say his name...
say his name
say his name
say moses gods name
say moses gods name
I say...
as far back as you can go
is to the law
and you'll find no forgiveness there
it's the street where the lawgivers meet
you'll die by moses
you'll cry moses
you'll cry moses
your bones
will cry moses
your bones
will cry moses
20. Buddhism. A variation.
buddha man lived by a path on the coast
it was a windy coastal path
but the flower called lotus walked with him
they did not grow on the path
through buddhism they grew within him
buddha man was a good man
his fragrance filled the air
it travelled in the air currents of the coast
there were no flowers on that path
there was no need to be
buddha man was there
stars were not in his eyes
a good man was
his look was as tall as the cedar tree
his strength was as strong as the fir tree
and the sky he looked up into
through buddhism
was not as high for him
as it was for others
he was also lit by the light of the moon of witchcraft
he was also visited by the spirit of buddha
buddha man was a good man
he also studied comparative religions
